Training Tips - Walking on Leash Politely

Clients ask me how to walk their dog on leash without any barking, whining or lunging at other dogs.

People have a tendency to stop their walk, get their dog to sit and then hang onto their dog until the other dog goes by. This only increases the stress and they are learning that other dogs are not nice to have around which increases the "aggression". Some people even correct the growl of their dog which is a very important message to you. If you listen to the growl it means that your dog is telling you that they are not happy in that situation. If so, then give them more space from the other dog and you can even go in another direction until they have shaken off their stress. The second key to walking on leash without any reactions to other dogs is by increasing the speed of your walk when you see another dog. Your dog then must pay more attention to you rather than the other dog.

Therefore, the key tips are Give them some Space and Pick up your Pace.

Lucy's Puppies

Very exciting news as Lucy had 7 adorable puppies!

Their eyes are open now and are starting to move around more. They have begun to play as well. We have started their housetraining at 2 weeks old. So adorable! Please click here to see individual photos of each puppy!

There are a variety of colours, sizes and coat types. The common denominator is temperament. I have personally chosen our breeding dogs from birth based on temperament. We have waited a long time to have the privilege to bring the perfect puppies into this world.

To be placed on the list then there is a non-refundable $250 deposit to confirm a puppy.

These puppies will also be available "semi-trained" at 8 weeks if you prefer to do the training yourself.
