Who We Are
Marcia Scott Professional Dog Trainer/ Breeder
I have been training dogs and puppies for over 25 years. I began with a collie mix which I learnt several challenges. Each & every doggie has taught me something about behaviour and the ways to get the best manners in a positive way. I believe in positive reinforcement and I have seen so many doggies that would be normally a confident dog that requires more positive reinforcement to encourage the appropriate behaviours.
I began to breed as I knew that several dog challenges could be avoided due to selective temperament. I have hand selected our breeding dogs from birth based on the best temperaments; then we breed those dogs. Therefore, we begin with an amazing temperament and build confidence by training our puppies. We also socialize our puppies to a variety of people, things and situations to build a strong foundation to bring that confidence into adulthood.
Norm Rooker Puppy Trainer
Norm has been working with Happy Hound since November 2014 when he purchased his first Miniature Goldendoodle from us. He is retired from the Canadian Armed Forces following a 36 year career, having owned and trained dogs throughout that time. He volunteers his time to train dogs and handlers with Audeamus, a Service Dog training organization that provides service dogs to Military and RCMP veterans. He formalized his training over the past 3 years under the tutelage and guidance of Marcia Scott and on 1 Apr 2018, he became a member of the Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers. He is a staunch advocate of positive reinforcement as a training methodology and loves working with all breeds but has a soft spot for doodles.
Kristal Roche Bording/ Trainer
Basically being born with an animal in my arms. I have had an instant love for all animals. Growing up with dogs, cats, horses, lizards and many more critters, my life would not be complete without them. Then one day I met Marcia, Sue and the crew at Happy Hound. They opened their arms and paws to me and trained me with their positive reinforcement training methods. Now thanks to Happy Hound I’m enjoying life as a puppy trainer and I have opened up a boarding kennel. Now I can have furry friends around me 100% of the time to give them guidance and love. It has been truly wonderful!!
